Regional Consultation on Child Protection in Emergencies CPiE held in Nepal organized by SAIEVAC in collaboration with Ministry of Women,Children and Senior Citizens, ILO Nepal and child Fund on 30 to 31 August, 2025. On day 1st of Consultation, Mr. Abdul Sattar (DG Human Right and ZARRA from MoHR ) presented Overview of Children Protection in Emergencies in Pakistan focusing on Current Situation and best practices. On 2nd Day Mr. Khalid Latif (Secretary NCRC) shared his views as Panelist from Pakistan during Panel Discussion on Child Protection in Emergencies and Child Marriages Ms. Mehwish Kayani (National Coordinator NACG Pakistan) joined as Panelist on Panel Discussion on Child Protection in Emergencies and Children on move, internally displaced and refugees. She shed light on the alarming situation of being on crossroad where Pakistan is hosting the largest refugee population and being among disasters prone countries. And Children are the ones paying the highest price for it. Along with that during emergencies, child violations particularly Child labor, child Marriages and internal trafficking is raised by two, three folds due to poverty and security issues.
Mr. Sattar also participated in Panel discussion on Child Protection in Emergencies and Child Labor as Panelist from Pakistan and presented his views.
He also briefed the precedent Pakistan has set by passing Child Marriages Restraint Act in ICT.
