Federal Minister for Human Rights, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, addressed the gathering and paid tribute to the invaluable contributions of older persons, describing them as custodians of our nation’s heritage, wisdom, and values.

He highlighted that respect for elders is deeply embedded in Pakistan’s culture and Islamic teachings, while also stressing the role of families in giving time, love, and attention to their elders. The Minister further underlined that older persons are among the most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change, calling for policies and initiatives that safeguard their dignity and well-being
